Case description
A thirty-one-year-old woman at Delano, Tennessee, reportedly watched unusual lights and two people outside her home at about 2:30 a.m. in September 1978. The fuller accounts give September 15, whereas the imported database dates the incident September 16. The illustration uses the month alone. According to the description traced to International UFO Reporter, she had been awake in bed for about half an hour when an unusual feeling prompted her to look outside.
From a south-facing window she saw a bright moon in a clear sky and, toward the southwest, a vaguely elongated object displaying red and pink light. Its apparent angular size was said to be slightly smaller than the moon’s. No sound was heard. This is a limited description of an illuminated shape, not enough to reconstruct a detailed machine.
Two figures resembling ordinary men in white suits stood roughly one hundred yards from the window. It was too dark to distinguish their faces or other features. They began moving toward the house, stopped, and turned back. The luminous object reportedly approached rapidly near the ground, then moved away quickly, climbing toward the west. The account does not establish that the men entered it or even that they were connected with it.
Later sources disagree over the precise IUR issue citation and provide little investigation history. Patrick Gross regards ordinary people and an unrelated light as plausible explanations. The plate retains the reported white-suited human forms and distant reddish light while leaving that relationship unresolved; it does not add an abduction or undocumented alien anatomy.
