Jaraba, Sp being encounter — October 15, 1978

François Louange and J. L. Casero published a cautiously presented Jaraba encounter after a telephone interview and one meeting with an anonymous man of about fifty. Their account places it around mid-October 1978, at seven or eight in the morning, near Peña Palomera on the Camino de la Hoz Seca. October 15 is a later catalogue precision. The witness was photographing birds with a tripod-mounted Canon camera. After an unusual silence, buzzing and a metallic sensation in his mouth, he reportedly noticed an ovoid object about five metres across, twenty metres away. Two apparently blond men, around 1.9 metres tall, wore blue-grey plasticlike suits with belts. One handled a tube in the ground; the other held a box with an apparently suspended sphere above it. They gestured, withdrew the tube and returned to the object, which rose and departed. The man claimed warmth, vibration, a small ground hole and photographs spoiled by fogging. The investigators explicitly acknowledged that they could not inspect the site, analyse the film or perform the necessary follow-up. The plate therefore reconstructs the reported people, tools and object together while labelling the restricted investigation; the reported effects are not independently established measurements.
