Jarbacoa, Dom.rep being encounter — December 6, 1978

Hatch catalogues this Jarabacoa report on December 6, 1978, beginning around 2 a.m. Four observers reportedly watched a domed disc hover over a tree for several hours. At about 6 a.m., a tall humanlike figure was seen at the same location before disappearing. The publication reference is the APRO Bulletin. A fuller circulating version describes a night watchman confronting a very tall man in silvery clothing with unusually luminous eyes near a pine tree. When the watchman approached, the figure vanished. A Hatch-derived retelling adds an attempted attack, but that action is not consistent across versions and is not required to understand the central observation. No clear facial details apart from the bright eyes are supplied. Rosales, citing Sebastián Robiou Lamarche, gives a substantially different chronology: the figure appeared at 6 p.m. in mid-December, and several people saw a bright domed object over the same tree the following night at about 11:30. These versions should not be merged into a certain simultaneous sighting of figure and craft.
