Case description
The imported Navelli account is dated 11 December 1978 at approximately 10 p.m. A taxi travelling near the Abruzzo town reportedly braked because two luminous globes appeared ahead on the road. Its engine then stopped. Two small humanoid forms were described as gliding above the ground. The short ITACAT-derived entry supplies no separate structured vehicle or reliable face description.
A more detailed Navelli story names Alfonso Marinelli, driving a new Mercedes, and describes approaching lights resolving into two short figures in luminous silver suits, large visored helmets and shoulder straps supporting chest lights. They floated upright near or over the car before moving away; afterward the vehicle could proceed. However, sources assign that narrative to 7 or 12 December, generally near 11:45 p.m., rather than the imported taxi entry’s 11 December time.
Patrick Gross compares these versions without recovering a contemporaneous primary statement that settles their relationship. They may reflect date errors or overlapping reports, but they cannot safely be treated as independently confirmed encounters or indiscriminately combined. This record retains the 11 December taxi sequence. The more elaborate suit and helmet description remains a source comparison, with its witness identity and date explicitly unresolved for this particular entry.
