West / Santa Cruz, Brz abduction report — January 1979

A woman west of Santa Cruz, Brazil, reported being lifted by an unusual light during January 1979. A saucer-like object was said to be present above the area. According to the account preserved in Bob Pratt's UFO Danger Zone, a beam raised her to an estimated height of forty metres. She was subsequently lowered and left on the ground. The report associates the experience with illness afterward. The short entry does not describe her entering the object or seeing its occupants, and it does not give the duration or symptoms of the later illness. The encounter's recorded sequence is the beam, the alleged ascent, her return to the ground and the reported health effects. Her name and a more precise date are absent from the surviving digest.
