Maringa, Brz abduction report — April 13, 1979

Late on April 13, 1979, Jocelino de Matos and his younger brother Roberto Carlos were walking in Maringá’s Jardim Alvorada district after deciding not to continue a visit to their sisters. They reported becoming aware of an intensely illuminated object. In the subsequent account, Jocelino was taken into it while his brother was left unconscious on the grass. The episode was described as extending from roughly 11 p.m. to about 1:30 a.m., later than the first observation time recorded in the catalogue. The family’s later account also included their mother seeing an object depart near the house. Investigators collected accounts of a medical examination and, from the adult participant, a sexual encounter aboard the object. Some details were developed during hypnosis, rather than reported as an uninterrupted conscious memory of the entire interval. The case was subsequently discussed by Wendelle Stevens and Brazilian researchers. This narrative keeps the two brothers’ differing reported experiences distinct: the preserved source does not say that both remained conscious and witnessed the same interior sequence throughout.
