Case description
Antônio Carlos Ferreira, a twenty-one-year-old night watchman at a furniture-factory construction site in Mirassol, São Paulo, reported an encounter in June 1979. The imported entry gives June 18, while investigator Ney Matiel Pires dates it to the early hours of June 28. Ferreira was on duty with his German shepherd, Hongue.
At about 3 a.m., he noticed an object descending into the yard. Three figures, little more than a metre tall, wore bright white suits and helmets connected to equipment boxes by tubes. A red light from a small device immobilised him. He said he was carried or floated toward a metallic craft standing on three supports, ducking through its low rectangular entrance.
After a humming departure and a gap in awareness, he remembered a larger room containing roughly a dozen occupants, some green and others dark brown. His next immediate recollection was sitting by the bathroom door at about 5 a.m. He reported tingling, an arm burn, a needle-like mark and dark patches on his back.
Investigators pursued the case, including regression sessions in August with Álvaro Fernandes and Walter Bühler. Ferreira's later account included examination procedures, a sexual encounter with a female occupant and claims of continuing contact. The initial taking and return were thus followed by a longer encounter series, with additional details described during subsequent investigation.
