Case description
The Montalieu entry appears to describe the same November 27, 1979 episode near the Tabouret pond that also entered the catalogue under a misdated record. GEPAN’s Technical Note 8 preserves the gendarmerie chronology: thirteen-year-old Rosine reported the main observation around 5:15 p.m., with neighbour Lucille later seeing a less detailed luminous phenomenon.
Rosine described a bright object descending across a semi-rural setting and stopping above rough grass beside a recently harvested field. A smaller luminous form nearby was interpreted as a person. In the investigation’s conditional reconstruction the main object was circular, approximately six metres across and two high, with red and white lights; the secondary form was estimated at 1.5–1.8 metres tall. These are reconstructed dimensions, not measurements of recovered objects.
Gendarmes recorded an area of flattened grass at the indicated location. GEPAN examined site geometry, witness interviews, chronology and the trace, carefully distinguishing reports from hypotheses. The note’s stated aim was to assess how precisely the alleged experience could be reconstructed, rather than establish an extraterrestrial vehicle. The image shows Rosine, the luminous object and an unresolved adjacent silhouette; no detailed face, uniform or alien species is supplied.
