Case description
Around 1 a.m. on 14 June 1980, a resident of Libertad, Uruguay, was in bed listening to the radio when his wife heard an outside noise. The fuller account attributed to Gordon Creighton says he switched on a strong exterior light and looked through a kitchen window. Outside stood two unusually attractive, muscular young people, a man and a woman, with pale skin, short black curly hair and close-fitting lead-gray suits. Each reportedly had a vertical healed-looking line on the forehead, likened to the position of a third eye.
The man outside then tried to open the front door. The resident pressed it shut, briefly making contact with the visitor's hand and experiencing intense heat. He eventually secured the door, after which the two visitors walked away. Marks or burns to the resident's hand were claimed. A modern video retelling identifies the couple as Juan Froche Jiacola and Ana, but those names are absent from the brief catalogue entry.
The catalogue's green-figure shorthand differs from the pale, humanlike description in the expanded account. It also mentions tripod traces, without supplying enough detail to reconstruct a vehicle or establish the marks' origin. A hoax-suspicion classification is not a demonstrated hoax finding. The available narrative does not establish an extraterrestrial identity, an actual third eye, or a described craft accompanying the doorway encounter.
