Linda Taylor was driving with her mother from Southport toward Manchester one evening in January 1981. Along the East Lancashire Road near Worsley, they noticed that the normally busy road had become unusually empty. A large light moved beside them near treetop height. Their car would not accelerate and began misfiring and slowing.
An old-fashioned car appeared dangerously close ahead. Above the road, the women then saw a large metallic disc; the other car vanished. They reached a filling station, where the light remained visible before tilting and shooting upward. At home Linda found that her coat was missing, became sick and discovered an unexplained interval of approximately two hours.
Later accounts describe a white circular room and a tall, blond, blue-eyed man who showed Linda a dolphin in a pool and asked her to touch it. Published summaries differ about the recollection: one calls it a dream, another says it emerged during hypnotic sessions. These later images followed the road encounter and missing interval; they were not part of the women's initial observation of the disc.
Film leaves witness anonymous but distinctive sequence matches Linda Taylor. Later dolphin imagery is hypnotic/dream recollection, separate from initial road observation; no completed abduction independently established.
