Case description
Around 7:45 p.m. on October 24, 1981, brothers-in-law Giuseppe B. and Angelo R. were reportedly fishing near the Salso river mouth at Licata, Sicily. They described lights emerging from the sea, followed several minutes later by three aligned luminous openings about 40 metres offshore. The Atlas gives a slightly later time.
Giuseppe directed a flashlight toward the shoreline and reportedly saw a roughly two-metre hairy figure standing knee-deep in water. Angelo did not see the creature. The light failed after a few seconds; Giuseppe described heat that dried wet sand beneath his bare feet, and an apparent pulling sensation before fleeing. The men separated, and Angelo later retrieved their fishing equipment. Giuseppe reportedly contacted carabinieri, who eventually searched, noted a distant glow and later found nothing anomalous.
The investigative account was supplied mainly by a friend to the AURA group, with a shorter police version; the principal witnesses declined cooperation. This weakens verification of the detailed sequence and the proposed connection between lights and figure. The plate preserves the two fishermen’s different observations and shows only lights offshore, since no vehicle hull was described. It does not turn Angelo into an independent witness to the hairy being or assign unreported facial anatomy.
