Case description
Late on September 1, 1983, motorcyclist Bill Lowry reportedly encountered an unusual light near Weaverham, Cheshire, while traveling through the area. The imported catalogue places the event on the A49 near the River Weaver at 11:50 p.m.; INTCAT gives 11:55 p.m. and cites an investigation by Jennifer Campbell through Jenny Randles's 1988 book.
The fuller account says Lowry stopped, felt an urge to switch off his lights rather than photograph the object, and then perceived a dark wedge outlined by lights. An approaching car interrupted his absorption in the scene. After continuing, he found himself outside Chester at approximately 2:15 a.m., later than he expected.
The Hatch version labels the motorcycle's trouble as electromagnetic interference, but the available account does not establish a measured electromagnetic mechanism. Nor does it provide a remembered onboard episode. The case combines a reported sighting, altered awareness, and a time discrepancy; those observations should remain distinct from any proposed explanation.
