Vale Das Velhas, Brz abduction report — November 1, 1983

At about 10 p.m. on November 1, 1983, two people near Vale das Velhas, Minas Gerais, encountered a luminous object described as a fireball. It gave off a humming sound and illuminated the surrounding area. One man reportedly began rising from the ground in the object's presence. His companion grabbed him and pulled him downward, interrupting the ascent. The surviving account does not say that he reached the object or entered it. The man subsequently reported being ill for approximately a year. Bob Pratt included the incident in UFO Danger Zone, cited at page 50 in the catalogue. The short synopsis preserves the light, sound, levitation, companion's intervention and prolonged illness, but supplies no named participants, medical findings or detailed recovery chronology.
