Prato / Principato, ITL being encounter — October 8, 1984

A short figure with an unusual implement was reported in an agricultural field at Prata di Principato Ultra, in the Avellino area of Italy, during October 1984. The imported catalogue gives October 8 around 7:40 a.m., describing a roughly four-foot figure wearing a helmet and probing the ground with a forked tool. A related published account, dated October 9 around 7:30 a.m., describes a farmer seeing a short being in a brown suit. Two tubes reportedly connected its helmet to a backpack. It held a forked implement, appeared just above the ground, and was associated with blue sparks before disappearing behind vegetation. A square or box-shaped metallic object was then said to rise from behind the bushes and depart rapidly. Footprints and holes were reported at the site. These versions have enough shared detail to warrant comparison, but their dates and descriptions should not silently be treated as identical: the shorter entry calls the figure furry, while the fuller one emphasizes its suit and equipment. The plate uses October 1984, keeps the helmet and forked tool, and shows a nearby box-like object as a reconstruction of the reported association. It does not demonstrate the purpose of the implement or the origin of the ground marks.
