Case description
The Hatch entry for the outskirts of A Coruña describes a September 1985 wave involving white globes, small simian-looking figures, and reports of harm to animals. It combines civilian and military or police involvement, but does not identify a single complete encounter or a human being taken away.
A relevant contemporary setting is Penamoa. Investigator Manuel Carballal, who visited with his young Grupo Fénix colleagues, later reproduced interviews about a hairy, sometimes gorilla-like figure and nocturnal lights. Residents described repeated searches and shooting; one said that the figure was almost two meters tall, while others gave shifting descriptions. A nearby family reported seeing nothing and regarded the affair skeptically. Alleged animal deaths formed part of the story, not independently established evidence of a particular creature.
The catalogue's bibliography cites a report about the later 1995–96 Galician wave, so that reference alone cannot verify every 1985 detail. Nor should Penamoa's tall figure be silently converted into the small occupants in the compressed abstract. The plate is explicitly a catalogue-summary composition of observers, a white globe and an indistinct hairy form, rather than a claimed photograph or one continuously witnessed episode. Its date remains September 1985 as catalogued, with the source mismatch preserved here.
