Ringsted, Dk being encounter — November 12, 1987

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on 12 November 1987, an unnamed witness walking near Tværallé in Ringsted noticed a red glow across a field. The witness described a boy-like figure with medium-length, untidy dark hair, light-blue trousers and a grey T-shirt. A shiny metal buckle or fitting was attached to one arm. The face looked ordinarily human and distinctive enough, the observer thought, to recognise again. A red, flame-edged spherical light lay several metres from the figure. From roughly twenty-five metres away, the witness approached a hedge for a better view. The figure moved toward the light; the light reportedly came toward him, enveloped him and spun rapidly into a red ring. It then rose over the trees and travelled away toward the swimming-pool area. The expanded account, reproduced in Alternate Perceptions and associated with Danish UFO-Nyt reporting, describes a sphere about three feet across; the Hatch catalogue gives three metres. Neither estimate is a measurement. This observation should remain separate from other Ringsted incidents in the same late 1987 series. The plate shows the fully clothed figure before the enveloping-light phase and preserves his human appearance rather than substituting a conventional grey alien.
