Case description
Joseph Trainor's UFO Roundup, volume 5 number 20, published a retrospective West Texas story supplied by Mike Harman. All witness names were explicitly changed. The central driver, called Mark Hasbrock, described travelling east in a three-truck convoy with men nicknamed Congaree and Zero. The narrative dates the strange interval to 23 December 1988 at 01:10 between Sierra Blanca and Allamore, although its introductory journey paragraph inconsistently prints 1998.
Mark said he saw brown owls with large luminous eyes on the road after the lead truck crossed a rise. Almost immediately, the other drivers called on CB asking where he had been. They reportedly had tried to reach him for fifteen minutes and subsequently claimed thirty minutes since their last exchange. He found both trucks ahead at the Allamore exit despite not remembering the rear vehicle passing. Their watches and dashboard clocks allegedly agreed on 01:16, leaving an unresolved inconsistency with the claimed elapsed time.
At a later café stop, Mark supposedly answered a waitress in fluent Spanish, then insisted he had never learned it. No recording, language test, logbook or independent interview accompanies the published story. The following driver's distress and apparent disappearance of Mark's rig are also reported through this retrospective narrative. No spacecraft, humanoid or actual transport was described. The illustration marks its combination of road owls and subsequent truckers' discussion as a sequence composite, while leaving the unusual time and language claims unverified.
