At about 2:30 a.m. on May 1, 1989, a Metcalf, Illinois, family reported a frightening observation during a power interruption. The main witness’s mother had got up to use the bathroom when she noticed the electricity was off. She then saw a figure looking through a window and screamed. A later humanoid catalogue adds that the figure had large eyes, but supplies little dependable information about its face, clothing or bodily proportions. Her scream woke her son, who was already associated in the source files with earlier claimed experiences. He reportedly fired a shotgun through the window at the figure.
