Case description
An elderly woman driving from the Bautista Canyon area near Anza, California, reportedly saw a luminous object descend on the evening of May 10, 1989. The Atlas gives 7:50 p.m.; another chronology rounds the time to about 7:45. She stopped her vehicle when the object hovered just above nearby power lines in an isolated part of the canyon.
The craft was compared with a mushroom and estimated at thirty feet in diameter. The woman said approximately six to eight beings emerged and appeared to work on its exterior. After about ten minutes they returned inside. The object then reportedly departed with a loud humming sound and a burst of blue flame. The available narrative supplies no reliable facial features, heights, clothing descriptions or explanation of how the occupants moved around a hovering craft.
Debbie Steinberg’s report in the Anza Valley Outlook of June 2, 1989, was subsequently cited in Timothy Good’s The UFO Report 1991. Later compilations also mention television interference, electrical disturbances or outages in the area. Those reports are an associated claim, not a demonstrated measurement of the craft’s effect. No named witness interview or utility record was located in the accessible material. The apparent repair activity likewise remains the observer’s interpretation of movements outside the object.
