Dutton, AL being encounter — July 18, 1989

A couple at Dutton, Alabama, reported a slow-moving white oval light on July 18,1989. Dan Wright’s Current Case Log in MUFON UFO Journal 260 identifies investigators Carol and Rex Salisberry and records the couple’s sequence of events. They had gone indoors because of threatening weather when an acquaintance, described as having reputed psychic ability, telephoned and suggested they look for UFOs. Returning outside, they found the sky clear and soon watched an oval white light move slowly past at a distance. A thunderstorm followed about ten minutes later. The journal’s short note then says the wife may have experienced a bedroom intrusion by a cloaked figure later that night. It supplies no resolved face, confirmed interaction or independent link between the figure and the light. The report also mentions other regional sightings by the wife, which should not become features of this particular object. The telephone suggestion is not evidence of initiated extraterrestrial communication. The plate is explicitly a sequence composite: two representative observers watch the distant oval, while a separate bedroom inset conveys the uncertain later figure. Neither spacecraft construction nor alien anatomy is established by the source.
