Perm, Urals, Russia being encounter — 1989

Jacques Vallée’s UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union recounts a Soviet newspaper story about a milkmaid named Lyubov Medvedev in the Perm region. The narrative appears among reports circulating during1989 and says the article had appeared during that summer. A contemporary press quotation places her walk at4:30a.m.;the precise encounter date remains unestablished. Medvedev reportedly encountered a dark figure taller than an ordinary person, with short legs and a very small projection in place of a clearly formed head. The figure was said to become luminous before disappearing. These few features form the recovered description. Neither a spacecraft nor a crew, technical equipment, detailed facial features or a measured height appears in that particular account. Nearby passages concern different Soviet reports and should not be incorporated into her scene. Vallée identifies Socialist Industry as the newspaper source, making this a published report relayed through his book rather than a recovered interview with Medvedev. No physical corroboration was established here. The plate places a representative milkmaid with the tall, short-legged form, keeping its head indistinct. Predawn lighting follows that quotation;clothes, the farm setting and arrangement remain illustrative.
