Nikolayev, Nik, Ukraine abduction report — September 16, 1989

A woman in Nikolayev, now usually rendered Mykolaiv, Ukraine, reported being caught by a beam from an object overhead on September 16, 1989. The catalogue places the incident around midnight. A fuller synopsis identifies her as an employee of a meat-packing plant who had stepped outside for a break. The light reportedly lifted her upward toward the object. Passers-by saw what was happening and screamed. The beam then released her, ending the ascent. The account does not describe her reaching or entering the craft. Jacques Vallée's UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union is the catalogue's cited source. The available synopsis does not give the woman's name, her height above the ground, the way she landed or a medical follow-up. Those details remain unreported rather than an implied onboard experience.
