Case description
Oleg Kirzhakov and Nikolai Baranchikov reportedly encountered a large object near Emtsa railway station during a night drive toward Moscow on November 1–2, 1989. Roadworks forced their truck onto a dirt detour. Kirzhakov described a dark, roughly forty-metre disc with a dome, rim openings and supports beside birch trees. He approached while Baranchikov remained in the cab.
The detailed narrative adds resistance while approaching, a red luminous message requesting fire, and an exchange involving matches. Kirzhakov said he entered a blue-lit interior, saw controls and communicated with dark, ill-defined presences resembling sacks or swaying masses. Versions differ over the number and where they appeared. He described mental communication and written messages, then left before the rim and dome rotated in opposite directions and the object became luminous and departed northeast. The episode reportedly lasted about twenty minutes.
The interior and messages depend on Kirzhakov’s account; his companion’s supposed observations are relayed through that same narrative. Valery Uvarov’s 2005 Nexus article provides a detailed English version, while the imported ledger cites an earlier Lumières dans la Nuit source, so 2005 should not be assumed to be the story’s first appearance. No contemporary official file, event photograph or independently authenticated interior witness was established in the consulted material. The image is an explicit exterior/interior composite.
