Case description
Reports from the Hungarian military barracks at Tarnaszentmária describe a sequence of unusual events in late 1989. A newspaper account by Gabriel Ronay, published in The Times on April 19, 1990, placed earlier disturbances in October and a particularly striking observation on November 20.
Soldiers reportedly saw red mist or a reddish cloud with flashing lights above the barracks. A Saturn-like object was said to move toward nearby woodland. Two men reportedly became unwell following an encounter with a beam of light. The newspaper narrative also attributed a forest observation to private Lajos Diószegi: exceptionally tall figures, estimated at about ten feet, moved in a manner compared with chess pieces.
Animals were described as becoming agitated during the wider series. These are allegations reported from a military setting, not published instrument measurements of the object or medical proof of a beam’s cause. The imported November 20 entry condenses several phases into one line. The Atlas keeps the woodland figures, aerial appearance and reported physical effects distinct within that sequence.
