Case description
An account preserved by the Uherský Brod observatory identifies the young witness as twelve-year-old Jaroslav Novotný of Ostrožská Nová Ves. On February 7, 1990, at about 5:30 in the morning, he reportedly saw an orange-white globe approaching from the direction of Buchlov along high-voltage wires. He compared its size to half a house and described a pink-red equatorial band. An antenna-like projection appeared and flashed three times; nearby trees seemed to bend as though air was being drawn in and expelled.
The observatory account separates this from an alleged return the following morning. The globe then hovered close to the ground, an opening appeared, and the boy heard a chick-like piping sound. He described sparks, one striking a window and another producing a sensation at his wrist, as well as an unseen elastic resistance that prevented him leaving. His father also reported a distant globe, initially mistaking it for the Moon before noticing the Moon elsewhere.
The imported entry instead gives approximately 18:00 and adds a large figure at a window. The fuller observatory narrative does not establish an identifiable humanoid occupant. These discrepancies remain unresolved. Author Rostislav Rajchl discussed plasma and solar activity as possible explanations, but those suggestions do not constitute a demonstrated identification. The plate follows the first morning’s described globe and avoids inventing an occupant.
