Marshfield, MA abduction report — March 12, 1990

A woman at Marshfield, Massachusetts, reported an encounter after hearing disturbances in her home during the night of March 12, 1990. MUFON's February 1991 case log identifies investigator Morton Schafer and describes an overturned chair, later knocking beneath the living-room floor, and an unsuccessful attempt to persuade her husband to investigate. While checking from a sunroom with a flashlight, she said that she saw a small, charcoal-grey figure immediately outside. It had a large oval head, dark eyes, and a loose dark garment. She reported returning upstairs and noticing that almost an hour had passed since she had first awakened her husband. The log says he confirmed the two visits, rather than witnessing the figure himself. An abduction narrative was reported in later hypnotherapy. That later material should be distinguished from the initial sounds, face-to-face claim, and clock comparison. Some subsequent catalogues date the overnight episode March 13.
