Case description
At about 9:40 p.m. on May 18, 1990, ten-year-old Dima reportedly ran home in Kairma, near Frunze in the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic, saying unusual beings were outside. His mother said she saw several small helmeted figures in luminous suits. Later compilations, citing Timothy Good's UFO Report 1992, describe stripes on their sleeves and trouser legs and hands with three claw-like digits.
Dima's account adds that a figure produced a box-like device and antenna-like projections appeared on the helmets. When a car passed, the figures reportedly jumped into a nearby ditch and waited. Their subsequent actions in the wet field were interpreted as cleaning their suits and performing somersaults. A powerful vibration or humming sensation was also described. These are interpretations of unusual movements, not independently demonstrated equipment functions.
The wider same-night narrative includes a large red disc seen during a local power outage and a separate claim that figures visited a teacher's home and invited her to accompany them. Those episodes should not be presented as one continuous scene witnessed by Dima and his mother. The inherited entry's roadside beings are therefore retained within a larger, later compiled account, with no verified causal link established between the figures, power interruption and aerial object.
