Case description
A shepherd at the Col de Vence in France's Alpes-Maritimes reportedly observed a brilliant object on December 24, 1990, at approximately 3 p.m. The Hatch catalogue describes a complex path and says that the observer later had no recollection of taking two photographs associated with the sighting.
The short entry also mentions reddened eyes, without supplying an examination report or establishing a cause. Its bibliography points to Lumières dans la Nuit issue 317. A separate French catalogue lists the same date and location under forgotten photographs, supporting that aspect of the identification while adding no complete transport narrative.
The available material does not describe being taken aboard an object or traveling elsewhere. Failure to remember operating a camera should therefore remain distinct from the abduction interpretation attached to the inherited classification. Videos about the Col de Vence's better-known 1994 and 1996 observations concern other events. The plate depicts this shepherd-and-light account rather than importing those later triangular-object reports.
