Tenay, FR being encounter — 1991

The Tenay,Ain,France record is preserved in Hatch with1991 and an early-morning time, citing Lumières dans la Nuit323. A later Rosales compilation, crediting Denys Breysse’s Project Bécassine, identifies a twenty-one-year-old student named Nadia and places her encounter near the cemetery toward the end of February1991, around5:45a.m. The original magazine investigation was not recovered. In that fuller version Nadia saw an approximately1.6-metre figure about100metres away. It appeared bristle-covered, with a large head, dark eyes, long thin arms and a beak-like facial projection. On noticing her it moved into the woods. Hatch’s much shorter wording adds a refuse-bin setting, a wall and claws; those details are not all present in the recovered Nadia version, so the accounts should not be silently fused into a single exact scene. No wings or spacecraft are described in the Nadia account. Calling the figure a birdman is a comparison of appearance, not identification of a species. The plate follows the cemetery-path version with Nadia and one distant figure; its facial details remain restrained because of the reported distance. Clothing, terrain and colour are illustrative. The encounter remains an uncorroborated report, with differences between summaries visible rather than resolved by invention.
