Case description
Three fishermen reportedly observed an unusual object just offshore from St Osyth, Essex, during a night in May 1991. The account summarized in Timothy Good’s UFO Report 1992 describes a saucer-shaped object held on edge, hovering low over the water. Its rim contained six window-like openings, giving the observation a more specific appearance than a single distant light.
Several manlike figures were reportedly moving inside and looking outward through the openings. The available summary supplies no reliable occupant count, clothing, facial description or measured stature. It ends with the object vanishing in the sky, without describing a landing, boarding sequence, conversation or objects recovered from the water. Those omissions are retained instead of supplying a conventional small-grey-occupant interpretation.
There is also a time discrepancy: the Atlas gives 00:30 on 18 May, whereas NICAP’s Good-derived chronology gives 23:40 on that date. The retrieved material does not establish whether this reflects separate phases, a midnight-date error or differing summaries. The plate consequently uses May 1991 and illustrates the distinctive edge-on saucer and six windows. The fishermen’s exact shore or boat position, object dimensions and viewing distance are not securely documented in the accessible account and remain compositional choices, not additional evidence.
