Case description
An August 1991 account from the Lajas Valley, north of La Parguera, describes a motorcyclist whose machine stalled in a water-filled rut around 11:30 a.m. Scott Corrales’s retelling names him Ulises Díaz. Investigator Jorge Martín’s reproduced account instead calls him Ulises Pérez and places the encounter at a cattle ranch in the Cuesta Blanca sector, between La Parguera and Laguna Cartagena. The names remain a source discrepancy.
Martín quotes the witness describing a figure seated or crouched on a log beside an irrigation canal. It had a large head, enormous black eyes and pale, salamander-like skin. Witness and figure briefly watched one another. When he moved to restart the motorcycle, the figure jumped into the canal and vanished beneath water lilies. He reportedly returned with relatives and friends, who saw crushed lilies; that is a follow-up claim, not an independently authenticated physical sample.
Corrales’s shorter version says the figure stood beside the ditch and ran into it. Both versions agree on the stalled motorcycle, daylight encounter and retreat into water, but their differences should remain visible. Neither reports a craft at this encounter. The plate follows the crouched-log setting with an indistinct pale figure and the rider; its Díaz label follows the Corrales version. Nearby UFO and entity stories are separate reports, not additional witnesses to this event.
