Melesse, FR being encounter — June 3, 1992

A woman driving home from work near Melesse, north of Rennes, reported an encounter on June 3, 1992, around 11:30 p.m. Serge Sorinas’s investigation, published in 1995, describes her stopping a Citroën BX near Le Cormier to watch red lights above a pasture and trees. She said an entirely transparent object approached to about fifteen metres and descended near the ground. A dashboard with white and green lights and a bald, humanlike person in grey collared clothing were visible inside. She associated the outfit with military activity. Later summaries add a small yellowish occupant and breathing apparatus, details that do not match the original account’s simpler bald-person description. She drove away and saw a distant red light later in the journey. The next day she noticed a dead treetop, but nearby residents could not establish when it had deteriorated. Her telephone inquiry to gendarmes was reportedly not formally recorded. The plate follows Sorinas’s version, with woman, car, transparent craft and ordinary bald occupant; it does not present the tree’s condition as proven damage caused by the object.
