Case description
At about 4:40 p.m. on 23 November 1994, six children at Plancher-les-Mines in eastern France reportedly watched a large, conventionally saucer-shaped object hover and manoeuvre. The surviving Larry Hatch database entry makes the occupant detail very brief: a head was visible at a porthole. The object’s movements and that observation account for its inclusion as a close encounter involving a reported figure.
The entry cites Lumières dans la Nuit, index 330, but does not supply the children’s names, their exact position, a measured distance, an observation duration or a description of the head. It also does not say that the figure emerged, communicated or approached them. The available record therefore supports a window observation rather than a developed account of contact on the ground. No particular eye shape, skin colour, clothing or biological identity can be recovered from this summary.
Although the database includes a general human-effects classification, its narrative does not identify an injury, symptom or medical examination. That classification should not be expanded into an invented episode. A fuller original investigation would be needed to assess the children’s separate statements, viewing conditions and reported manoeuvres. The reconstruction retains the six witnesses, hovering disc and indistinct head while marking those source limits.
