Case description
During September 1995, an off-duty policeman in Campo Rico, Canóvanas, reportedly woke when his car alarm sounded. The catalogue names him José Collazo; an attributed interview calls him Juan Collazo Vázquez and gives about 11:10 p.m. He said he went downstairs with a protective vest and a .357 revolver and found an unfamiliar creature grappling with his large Chow-Chow dog in the garage area.
The interview describes a crouched, kangaroo-like animal with short forearms, an oval snout and oval eyes, initially about three feet high; another summary gives five feet when upright. Collazo said he fired once, after which it curled into a ball and struck a wall. The interview says he fled upstairs and did not watch its departure, whereas the shorter catalogue says it ran away.
Claims about blood, coarse hair and forensic examination appear in the retelling, but no identifiable laboratory report is supplied. They do not establish an extraterrestrial animal. The incident belongs to the 1995 chupacabras reports and contains no observed spacecraft. Its plate uses a nonviolent moment with officer, dog and creature safely separated, rather than borrowing the red eyes and dorsal crest described by other witnesses.
