Rio Grande, Pr being encounter — October 7, 1995

Mary Quinones reportedly encountered a strange creature in her backyard at Los Pérez, Río Grande, Puerto Rico, at approximately 15:30 on 7 October 1995. The catalogue account says she was working near rabbit cages when she sensed or heard something heavy fall behind her. Turning, she saw a figure approximately five feet tall facing her. Reported features include large red luminous eyes, tiny sharp filaments across the body, webbing between the fingers and membranes joining the underarm region to the abdomen. It appeared able to change colour against its surroundings. When its mouth opened, Quinones reportedly saw two prominent fangs. She screamed and the creature escaped toward nearby woods in long jumps. No vehicle or arrival from a spacecraft is reported. Rosales attributes the account to Jorge Martín in Evidencia OVNI, issue 8. A subsequent horse-and-pursuit claim is not established as Quinones’s own observation. No verified specimen, trace or explanation is supplied. The plate shows the initial backyard encounter with the described eyes, filaments and membranes, while leaving the animals safe and depicting no attack.
