Case description

Cynthia Hind's account of a November 1996 interview identifies the principal witness as Lloyd Karambakuwa, a 17-year-old student at Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School in Bindura. He said that while studying around 01:00–01:30 on 6 March 1996 he heard a repetitive clicking sound, rather like a telephone dial, although no telephone was nearby. He looked outside and watched from behind a hedge. Lloyd described an approximately one-metre-tall figure wearing white overalls, with a head shaped like a rugby ball. On its back was a satchel with an aerial and a flashing red light. Frightened, he returned to bed. Around 06:00 he reportedly noticed unfamiliar footprints, but the recovered account does not establish that investigators authenticated them or linked them physically to the figure. He initially told schoolmates about a ghost; a friend's suggestion introduced the UFO interpretation. Hind also interviewed Kumbadzai, a guard at a teaching centre across the road. She recalled a white figure and clicking noises, hiding behind a wall, and rainbow colours during another pass. These are separate viewpoints whose timing and relationship cannot be reconstructed precisely from the surviving account. No craft was described by either observer. The plate combines the viewpoints explicitly and retains the unusual reported head and backpack instead of substituting standard Grey anatomy.

Film description/transcript incorrectly puts Chipadze/Bindura in South Africa; Atlas follows Hind’s Bindura Zimbabwe. Film gives 1.5m rather than Hind’s approximately1m. No craft was described, footprints unverified, guard’s separate viewpoints/timing cannot be collapsed into independent simultaneous confirmation.
