Friol, Sp being encounter — March 6, 1996

José Manuel Castro reported a luminous sphere at his property in Ferrerías, near Vilalvite in the municipality of Friol, during the night of March 6–7, 1996. He said that he went outside with a flashlight, signaled toward the light, and subsequently saw it lower toward his land. His account included a ramp and humanoid figures, some moving in an unusual hopping manner. Local newspaper retrospectives identify his brother Cesáreo as someone he sought out during the episode, while investigator Marcelino Requejo discussed other reports in the wider Galician wave. Versions differ over the number and apparent size of the figures; the compact Hatch entry emphasizes three small figures. Claims about landing impressions and footprints accompanied the story, but their interpretation is separate from the observation itself. The date crosses midnight in fuller accounts, so the image uses March 1996. It depicts the farm-and-light phase with distant silhouettes, rather than fixing uncertain measurements or merging every regional sighting into Castro's experience.
