Near Santa Barbara, CA abduction report — April 24, 1996

A man driving near Santa Barbara, California, reported an unusual experience on April 24, 1996, at about 9:30 p.m. The catalogue describes a sudden bright flash followed by unaccounted-for time and recollections of scenes that seemed connected with earlier history. The entry's source trail leads to the National UFO Reporting Center. A later location index summarizes a matching report as occurring on Route 126, but the surviving abstract does not provide the driver's full route, the duration of the interval, or a complete sequence of what happened afterward. The historical imagery is described as the witness's experience rather than evidence of travel to another time. The source itself questions whether an abduction occurred. No craft interior, occupants, or observed taking is supplied, so those elements cannot be added as established parts of this event. The plate focuses on the driver and the reported flash, with vehicle details and roadside surroundings reconstructed.
