Case description
A woman walking her dog near her home in Ipswich, Queensland, reportedly encountered two short luminous figures during the early hours of May 22, 1996. Keith Basterfield’s Australian catalogue lists approximately 12:15 a.m.; the Rosales compilation gives 2 a.m. Both place the observation on the same date and describe the woman as the principal human witness.
The beings appeared to glow and had conspicuous dark eyes. No clear clothing was apparent in the account. The woman believed that a reassuring message was communicated mentally, after which the figures faded from view. Although she estimated that the encounter had occupied only a few minutes, the elapsed interval was reportedly about an hour and a quarter, leaving roughly seventy minutes she could not account for in her recollection.
Basterfield attributes the report to UFO Research Queensland. The summaries describe an apparent discrepancy between remembered duration and clock time; they do not establish where the witness was during that interval or document a physical taking aboard a craft. No vehicle was seen. A separate account for May 23 describes three figures on a later morning and should not be folded into this two-figure encounter. Neither the dog’s presence nor the later report supplies independent confirmation of the missing interval.
