Piracicaba, Brz being encounter — August 26, 1996

João Galvão Coelho and his wife Ivanete reported following a luminous object while returning home by motorcycle in Piracicaba on August 26, 1996, around 8:40 p.m. Investigator Eduardo Mondini’s November 1996 Revista UFO article describes a roughly four-metre disc with coloured rim lights, hovering about sixty centimetres above a vacant lot. João stopped approximately eight metres away and flashed the headlight. Ivanete reportedly saw a ramp descend. Three beings about fifty centimetres tall approached: their heads appeared disproportionately large and helmeted, with enormous ears and an antenna flashing red above each head. Each carried a pen-like item in the right hand. Frightened, the couple fled. A return visit about ninety minutes later allegedly revealed a different, smaller object, subsequently described by neighbours; this is a later stage, not the craft illustrated with the beings. Five ground punctures were reported the following day. CEPEX and collaborating groups examined the site and collected samples, but Mondini explicitly reported no conclusive evidence.
