Case description
A UFO Roundup account preserved by NUFORC places this report at 1 p.m. on September 24, 1996, near an elementary school north of Georgeville, Marchand and Smithport in Pennsylvania’s Indiana County. The fuller version describes two nine-year-old children, a girl and a boy, rather than the two boys in the abbreviated Hatch listing. Their account reached the writer through the girl’s grandmother, identified as Beverly C.
The children reportedly watched a four-foot figure cross a clearing in a cornfield about a hundred yards from the school. It swung its long arms in a marching motion and had three ordinary-length fingers. They described sky-blue skin, a tube-like appendage lying across the head and hanging down behind it, and a single dark feature low on the face where a nose would ordinarily be. The observation supposedly lasted about nine minutes without unusual sounds.
The grandmother later relayed a report that two other children had seen a similar figure there in spring. That remains a separate, secondhand claim. No craft was described in the September encounter. NUFORC’s surviving posting, submitted in 2002 from the earlier Roundup material, explicitly says the organisation could not confirm it. The reconstruction follows the unusual reported anatomy without turning the story into a verified alien visitation.
