Mamanguape And Sao Neves, Brazil abduction report — October 18, 1996

Two separate reports from Paraíba, Brazil, were grouped together in this October 18, 1996 catalogue entry. In São Neves, residents described two saucer-shaped objects, each estimated at thirty metres across, with blinking lights. The report does not identify occupants or describe a landing there. In Mamanguape, about ninety kilometres from João Pessoa, two bright balls of light were seen in the night sky. A local man was reported missing afterward. The published item does not name him, identify a witness to his being taken or explain whether he was later found. UFO Roundup's October 27 edition included these items in its account of the region's October 16–18 sightings, crediting members of the Guarabira UFO investigation team, EPUG. The São Neves discs and the Mamanguape disappearance were neighbouring reports in that compilation. They do not form a single witnessed sequence in which the missing man entered one of the two thirty-metre craft.
