Punta Arenas, Chl being encounter — September 22, 1997

Enrique Bermúdez reportedly drove to the outskirts of Punta Arenas to watch the sky on September 22, 1997. The Hatch record assigns approximately 11 p.m. and refers to a group around a parked car. Scott Corrales's fuller later account identifies the witness and describes the encounter separately from a return visit with an investigator. Hearing an unusual sound, Bermúdez reportedly switched off his headlights and noticed short figures running around the vehicle. He described eight beings, about a metre tall, with long arms and unusually large heads. Darkness prevented clear facial observations. He estimated that they remained around the car for forty minutes before running into nearby woods, after which he drove away. No corresponding spacecraft is described in this phase. A week later, according to Corrales, he returned with AION investigator Dr. Carlos Muñoz. They reportedly saw a pulsing red tube-like light about twenty metres away, but Muñoz could not see it through his camcorder's viewfinder. They left without establishing its nature. That episode does not independently confirm the earlier humanoids, and should not be presented as their visible transport. Hatch's additional black-car and electromagnetic-effect shorthand was not resolved by the located fuller narrative. There is no retrieved authenticated recording of the beings, physical evidence or independently established explanation.
