Case description
A woman identified as Mrs. H. reported seeing two humanlike figures in her garden at Grand-Mère, Quebec, on October 24, 1998, around 8:30 p.m. They were covered in white, helmeted clothing resembling astronauts' outfits. One appeared to bend down and collect something while the other remained nearby. Their movement was described as floating slightly above the ground.
Behind them, at an estimated distance of seventy-five feet, she described a roughly twenty-seven-foot patch of luminous brown fog containing other bright colors. She left the window after a few minutes. When she returned, the figures had disappeared and the fog was moving away. The observation therefore contains a gap: the fuller account does not describe her watching the figures enter a solid spacecraft. Later summaries compress that sequence into a departure in a foglike object.
Filer's Files number 39, circulated in October 1999, attributed the investigation to the Association Québécoise d'Ufologie. Its report mentioned photographed ground marks, small holes containing unusually textured soil, and footprints. Soil samples were reportedly being analyzed, but that notice does not provide laboratory results or establish what caused the marks.
The Filer account gives about three minutes at the window, while a later chronology says five. The figures' covered appearance also leaves their faces unknown. The core claim is a brief garden observation followed by an investigation of reported traces; neither an extraterrestrial identity nor the physical nature of the luminous fog was demonstrated.
