Case description
The 1997 Ministry of Defence register records a Chippenham report for 4 October at 6:16 p.m. One dark object was described as larger than a person and exceptionally flat, with apparent depth compared to a playing card. Two projections resembled legs hanging beneath it. A small glimmer was visible toward the rear, and the object disappeared eastward.
Those details describe a single unusual form. The leglike appearance does not independently establish an occupant, a flying person or two separate beings. The surviving row provides no face, clothing, propulsion system, measured altitude or duration. A conventional saucer with windows would be an addition to this account, just as a detailed alien body would be.
Checking the PDF layout also resolves a transcription problem: a fragment about approaching a windscreen and speeding away belongs to the preceding Oswestry entry. It should not be attached to Chippenham. This record preserves the flatter, dark form and eastward departure only. The plate uses an interpretive thin outline and dangling projections, with a contextual observer and town street because no exact viewpoint or witness likeness is supplied.
