5Mi NWof Copemish reported light formation observation — July 8, 1961

The object was stationary for about 10 minutes and then moved rapidly to the Southeast and disappeared. He said it appeared to be hovering and then moved rapidly to the Southeast and disappeared. There were no other witnesses reported. Comments: No other witnesses were reported. Physical traces or residue were not observed at the site. The object or lights were observed visually and did not appear to conform to any known aircraft. ATTN: 32 TH ADIV (30-91C) NO ACFT SIGHTED. DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE INFORMATION AP IN : 53597 (12 JULY 61) PAGE FOR 3 PAGE TWO RJJEDGSH 4 TREE TOP LEVEL AND DISAPPEARED. THE FOUR RETURNED TO THE PLACE PREVIOUSLY DESCRIBED, AT APPROX 0415Z. AS IT PASSED APPROX THE SAME AS A BICYCLE, SUDDENLY A WHITE OBJECT APPEARED ABOUT 3 FT FROM THE RED ONE AND THEN MOVED INTO ONE AND SPLIT AGAIN. AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE RED OBJECT DISAPPEARED. THE RED AND GREEN LIGHTS WERE NOT OBSERVED UPON RETURNING.
