Case description
The Canyon Ferry Reservoir file’s Blue Book record card dates the alleged landing April 30, 1964, rather than April 8. The large compiled PDF contains many other reports and clippings; the imported conversations with visitors at Newark Valley and stories of other witnesses belong to different material in that compilation.
Children near the G. D. Davis home reported a lighted egg-shaped object and later pointed out four ground indentations and an apparent burned area. Linda and Tom Davis featured in local coverage, with children from the Rust family also mentioned. Their parents did not independently witness the initial object. Newspaper accounts and later catalogues differ on the exact night and time, so the record-card date should not erase those discrepancies.
The Air Force classified the case as a hoax involving children recreating marks from the widely publicized Socorro report. APRO disputed that assessment; contemporary NICAP reporting acknowledged conflicting information, including evidence supporting a prank. The marks do not establish a spacecraft. No occupant is described in the relevant Canyon Ferry account. The plate reconstructs representative children and the reported egg-shaped object, explicitly labelled with the official hoax finding, without importing the unrelated visitors elsewhere in the PDF.
