That account places sightings near Wooster and Smithville at about 9:10 p.m., followed by Lawrence and Burbank between roughly 9:25 and 9:30. Witnesses reportedly saw a fiery, low-flying object moving erratically, changing colour and making a whirring sound. Reports also associated it with interference on police radios. It descended northwest of Burbank, appearing to some observers as though it might land. Investigators later reported elevated radioactivity in a suspected area. The recovered summary does not give measurements, instruments, background comparisons or a demonstrated causal link to the light.
