Quipapa entity encounter — February 25, 1966

Three young women near the Água Branca sugar mill at Quipapá, Pernambuco, reported an encounter on February 25, 1966, around 10:15 p.m. Fuller accounts name Ofélia Versoa and sisters Maria Marlúce and Maria Marlucy da Silva. The imported NICAP summary compresses the group to two female factory workers. Walking by the railway, they allegedly saw an object shaped like an inverted bowl, with two bright forward lights. Three short figures in large headgear stood nearby, accompanied by a much taller figure with a luminous head covering. Two women sought cover while Marlúce watched more closely. A passing jeep enabled them to move past. Later, with their mother, they reportedly saw the object flying near the homes before it departed. Walter Bühler published the case in Flying Saucer Review, drawing on Brazilian investigation. Headache, anxiety and flattened vegetation were reported, without establishing a physical mechanism.
