Case description
The scanned report resolves the imported place-name corruption as Sutton Coldfield, England. A housewife and her daughter described an observation from their kitchen at 20:40 on 28 October, lasting about two minutes. The form omits the year, but its position among October 1987 reports in a file covering December 1986–November 1987 supports that year as an inference, rather than a directly written date.
The object was described as a very bright triangular light pattern, with a red light to one side and the other lights white. It looked flat, with an estimated diameter of twelve feet. The observer placed it about seven feet above the garden and fifteen feet from the kitchen window. It reportedly turned on its side, moved slowly and veered right. The night was clear and starry with the Moon visible; the house lights were on. A nearby high mast was noted.
The report was passed from police to RAF Strike Command at High Wycombe and received at 15:00 the following day. Names and most address information are redacted, but the locality and relationship of the two observers remain readable. No occupant, communication, landing trace or later investigation finding appears in these pages. The plate therefore shows the two observers and a low, uncertain light-bearing form; its exact structure and the daughter’s age remain illustrative.
